Sorry to get this out so late, but our friends from CrossFit Queens are hosting a competition, The King Of Queens, on Saturday, December 17th 2011.  Click here for further info and registration.  The deadline to register is tomorrow, December 6th!  Local competitions are great way to prepare for the CrossFit Games or just meet and train with other CrossFitters from our region.

Check out the one finger pull-ups!  Thanks to Mark's Daily Apple for putting us on point.  The strength equipment company, IronMind, sells, amongst other things, a device called Eagle Loops.  The Eagle Loop goes around the pull-up bar and has a loop for each finger.  The Eagle Loops enable one to do finger pull-ups.  We have experience with the Eagle Loops…they're well made and work well.  It takes a little getting used to the discomfort felt from supporting and pulling your bodyweight by one or two digits!  Perhaps Santa will place a pair or two in our stocking this Christmas.  Yes…we have been good.

It Could Be Old Age, or It Could Be Low B-12   "Recommended dietary amounts of B12 vary: 2.4 micrograms daily for those age 14 and older, 2.6 micrograms for pregnant women and 2.8 micrograms for nursing women. Barring circumstances that impair B12 absorption, these are levels easily obtained from a well-balanced diet containing animal protein."Jane E. Brody, NY Times

The above article offers yet another reason why we should eat tasty animals and why we should NOT be vegetarians or vegans.–George
