CROSSFIT SUFFOLK: Powered By SPARTAN PERFORMANCE

Wendy is putting in the work. Many of you have expressed your dismay over not having the same pull-up or toes-to-bar strength since the pandemic. It’s important to keep things in perspective. Many of us are in the same boat. It’s important to realize how synergistically everything we do and did regarding training works. Obviously, if you are not doing pull-ups and toes-to-bar on a regular basis your strength and skill will be negatively affected. The not so obvious is how much heavy squatting, deadlifting, Pendlay rows, pressing and Olympic lifts help you with exercises that require holding your own weight and moving it through space. In order to keep your bodyweight strength and skill up you need to: (1) Do those exercises at mid to high volume on a near-daily basis OR (2) work on the exercises consistently along with doing compound lifts on a consistent basis.
