The event of the season is this Saturday.  Yes, the Spartan Performance Way After the Holidays Party, the party that critics have labeled as, “the do not miss event of the year” is Saturday at 8pm.  Come down meet the people you usually don’t train with, socialize and have a good time.  Bring something to share.  You do not need to feed or provide drink for the entire gym.  If everyone brings a little something that will suffice.  If you can’t bring anything come down anyway.  Wear regular clothes.  There shouldn’t be any working out.

Attia’s guest post, along with comments from Tim Ferriss is a quick read, however, they have graciously included links to other sources, articles and videos about cancer treatment and prevention from the eating lifestyle point of view.  It would take you hours to get through everything, but you’d have a much deeper understanding of cancer and cancer prevention.  We all know someone who has had cancer or is currently suffering from it.  For those seeking to learn as much as possible about cancer prevention and healing the above article is an excellent gateway.

Speaking of Dr. Peter Attia….several of you have discussed having a high cholesterol reading on your blood tests despite training on a regular basis and eating cleanly.  I have suggested reading ATTIA’S INFORMATION ON CHOLESTEROL.  There’s plenty of it and the good doctor explains cholesterol better than anyone we can think of.  Before you panic or start taking medication for cholesterol please read Attia’s articles.  Be advised–they are long.  Unfortunately not everyone in the medical community has been updated on subjects such as cholesterol.  Your doctor may be one of them.  It’s your responsibility to educate yourself.  Attia is a great resource.

Workout of the Day
Front Squat: 1×3@ 70%, 1×3%75%, 1×3@80%

8 minute AMRAP of:

10 box jumps 24/20″
15 lunge steps
20 half Turkish Get-ups (10 each arm) 24/16kg

(Note: There are several versions of a half Turkish Get-up.  Do the version where the Half starts as a regular TGU and end it where you extend your arm just before lifting your hip off the ground.)
