AGRICULTURE’S BAD MEDICINE  This article is important for anyone who buys meat and dairy products in supermarkets and other stores where the modern methods of agriculture are used.  By modern we refer to the use of antibiotics in the animals we get our food from.  Vegans you’re not “safe” either as crops are sprayed with chemicals that aren’t good for human beings.

The article hits very close to home as I’ve been diagnosed with Diverticulitis a month ago.  As a person with a healthy lifestyle and healthy diet, the big question is “how did I get a medical condition that affects the digestive system?”

The medical doctor who correctly diagnosed me was unable to offer a definitive reason for how I contracted Diverticulitis.  I was referred to a naturopath doctor by a family friend.  The naturopath offered the best explanation I was able to research.  His assertion is this: The use of antibiotics in agriculture wears down the mucosal lining in the intestines.  The damage to the intestines leads to infection.  I’ve over-simplified the explanation for brevity and ease of understanding.  The solution, according to the naturopath, is to treat the condition with a pharmaceutical grade Probiotic and other natural supplements, to repair the damage that was done and eating foods that won’t cause further damage as you heal.

It is unknown how many medical conditions may be caused or influenced by agricultural practices used today.  We recommend, at the very least, that you become aware.  Reading the above-highlighted article is a good way to start.  Shopping for food that isn’t pumped with chemicals and antibiotics would be the next logical step.  This is more expensive, but it’s cheaper than medicine, surgery, and hospital stays.—George
