Melissa D. and Nicole are competing TODAY in a Powerlifting Competition right down the road from our gym! The 2015 International Powerlifting Association New York Grand Prix/New Jersey State Championships will be held at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, 3845 Veterans Highway, Ronkonkoma (directly across from Applebee’s). The competition starts at 8:30 am. CLICK HERE for further information. The ladies have 3 lifts to perform: Squat, Bench Press and Deadlift. The lifts are spread out throughout the day. Typically 1 lift is performed in the morning, 1 in the late morning/early afternoon and 1 in the late afternoon. The time in between lifts is determined by the number of competitors. We have no idea what that number is as of the time of this blog post.
