CROSSFIT SUFFOLK: MELISSA WINS THE FEMALE DIVISION AT THE IRONFEST STRENGTH MEET!
On Saturday, October 25th 2014 Melissa competed in the October IronFest Starting Strength Meet and won the Female Open Division! Melissa’s CrossFit Total was 745: 295 lbs. Squat, 120 lbs. Press and 330 lbs. Deadlift, at a body weight of 128 lbs.! Melissa is fortunate in that her coach (and Mom!) is the International Powerlifting Association (IPA) World Record Holder in the 45-49 year-old, Amateur Raw Women’s Division (123lb.)! 10 women and 28 men competed at CrossFit Gantry in Long Island City. The competition ran very smoothly thanks to the host team, CrossFit Gantry and their excellent staff, especially Jay Hachadoorian (coach, owner & competitor), Dana Zilber, and Justin Varrone. Thanks to all the competitors, spotters, judges and everyone who works behind the scenes to make events like this one very successful!
