The above workout is the workout of the day (WOD) today as well as the first workout of the 2011 CrossFit Games Open.  We will be repeating this workout on Saturday afternoon for those participating in the Games.  We'll have further details regarding Saturday on tomorrow's post!

Poor Sleep May Make You (And Your Liver) Fat  "New research is revealing exactly why shift workers and other chronically sleep deprived members of mankind tend to have problems with obesity, insulin resistance, diabetes, heart disease, and all the other popular features of metabolic syndrome: their livers aren’t processing fat efficiently, instead allowing fat to accumulate."–Mark Sisson of Mark's Daily Apple

Old Wisdom On Daily Meal Frequency, Why Are You Eating So Much?  "So what we find is some of the most revered past civilizations full of healthy, athletic, and intelligent people only eating enough to nourish their bodies and not having “the most important meal of the day” (well by modern standards that is).

Then I look around today and see a world full of chronically tired, sick, rapidly ageing, overweight and mentally clouded persons who are told to eat more often….how is this reflecting any wisdom from the past?"—-Mike O'Donnell, The IF Life
