SPARTAN PERFORMANCE CROSSFIT SUFFOLK
Four rounds for time of:

95 pound Thruster, 15 reps
15 Pull-ups
Troy finished The 9-11 Throwdown, as prescribed, in 33:00! As for the onlookers, one young lady was fascinated, one completely disinterested and the guys ranged from mildly amused to hysterical!
Thanks to all who came out and yesterday and made the 9-11 Throwdown successful! We can't think of a better way to remember The 9-11 Fallen than by getting together with good people, working out hard and sharing a meal!
The Cult Of Physicality "Working with Gym Jones involves completing excruciating tasks. They use some basic machines — rowers, Airdyne stationary bikes — but mostly rely on free weights, kettle bells and low-tech equipment like weighted sleds. The Jones Crawl involves three rounds of dead-lifting 115 percent of your body weight 10 times and then jumping on and off a box 25 times as fast as you can. “Recovery” at the end of a workout might involve a 30-minute run and an ice bath. But not at the gym; it has only one shower, which is for “emergencies,” Ms. Twight said."—Brooks Barnes, NY Times
If the above sounds familiar it's because Gym Jones owner Mark Twight is a former CrossFitter.—George
Happy I got to be beside some great heroic people today. This might sound odd but some of the people who died in the trade towers might have been able to relate. Only thing is their time with these heroes (NYPD, FDNY ect)would be unfortunately their last.
In memoriam of those who lost their lives in this senseless act. 9-11-2001
Congratulations and thank you Lisa & George for hosting a great event. And nice job to my fellow crossfitters. It was an amazing day.
