Team Spartan Performance will be at it again in June 2012!  That's right, some of us are already registered for the Spartan Sprint in Tuxedo, NY and the Spartan Beast in Vermont on September 22, 2012.  This Spartan Race is a 5K (3.1 miles) with 10 obstacles at the Tuxedo Ridge Ski Center.  The Beast is on a 12 mile race with 18 obstacles at the Killington Ski Resort.  Click here for further information and to register.  Intrigued, but not sure??  Let us know your questions and concerns.  We'll help sort them out!

Is There Any Such Thing As "Safe Starches" On A Low-Carb Diet

The above blog post comes from Jimmy Moore's Livin' La Vida Low-Carb (that's Living The Low Carb Life for readers who don't understand Spanish or listen to Ricky Martin songs).

The post is quite informative, but it's long.  Definitely worth your time if the subject of diet and nutrition means anything to you at all.  Be advised, at the time of this posting the "Safe Starches" post had nearly 300 comments.  They were just as worth reading as the the article.  The comments include heated debate amongst authorities in the field of nutrition.  At times it gets downright nasty.  Some of it was similar to reality TV, with the bickering, but with intellectuals–which made it interesting and informative.

What we gathered from the blog and the subsequent comments is something we have maintained for some time:  Learn all you can about nutrition and pay attention to how your body responds to everything that you consume.  Some food is bad for everyone, some is good for everyone and some is alright for some, but not others.  Your mission, should you decide to accept, is to educate yourself and figure out what's good for you and yours!
