Congratulations to Patrick C. for his victory at the Boston Open 2013 Kettlebell Competition!  We love to see hard work and dedication pay-off.  Patrick was inspired by his father Pat Carroll, one of the original kettlebell trainers on Long Island and CrossFit Kettlebell Subject Matter Expert, Jeff Martone.  After learning of kettlebell sport in July Patrick began training, not sure of when he would compete.  Patrick expected his chance to compete would be sometime in 2014.   Just 2 weeks ago Lisa learned of a kettlebell competition in the Boston area.  She immediately forwarded the info to Patrick who immediately signed up for the event.  With two and half months of training to do the Long Cycle (double kettlebells,  Clean and Jerk) and 2 weeks notice to do the competition Patrick competed at the 85+ kilogram division (roughly 187 lbs. and over) and beat men much larger than himself!  Score in kettlebell sport is determined by the amount of reps the athlete can complete in a given time period.
