WHY GRAINS ARE UNHEALTHY

HOW TO ELIMINATE LOVE HANDLES AND MUFFIN TOPS

WEBSITE GLOSSARY

Every so often we do a tremendous member service, at no additional cost, and provide a User’s Guide to This Website.

Please hold your applause…it’s late and I need to get moving.

In order to get the most of this website you need to be able to read.  The markings that appear before you are called “words”.  They are formed by placing “letters” in a group.  Once you have a working knowledge of words and their definitions you need to make “time” to read.  “Time” as we know it is the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole.  So, in other words, you need to create some progress of existence to read the words or look at the pictures on this website.

CAUTION: IF YOUR READ THIS WEBSITE UPON WAKING, PRIOR TO COFFEE, PLEASE MAKE SURE BRAIN IS FULLY ENGAGED.  IF BRAIN IS NOT ENGAGED PLEASE RETURN LATER.  WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR SLEEP-READING, A PHENOMENON THAT STRIKES 1 IN 10 AMERICANS AND CAN LEAD TO MISUNDERSTANDING, ARGUMENTS, WORDS THAT SEEM TO SAY ONE THING , BUT REALLY SAY SOMETHING ELSE AND EXPLOSIVE DIARRHEA.

Now that you understand making time to read we can get on with the business of understanding the words below:

Workout of the Day= The training and exercising you will do in a period of time known as a “day”.  A Day consists of 24 hours.  The workout of the day will be the same group of activities in a 24 hour period of time.

7= The number that comes after 6 and before 8.

Minute= A period of time consisting of 60 seconds.

EMOM= Every Minute On The Minute

Snatch=A lift from the sport of weightlifting.  Look below.  The word “snatch” is highlighted.  Highlighted words mean there is an article or a video linked to the word.  Just click on a highlighted word and other words or moving pictures will magically appear.  Also the title of my favorite Guy Ritchie movie.

Power= For our purposes means NO SQUAT.

Squat= Yes, you should squat.

Hang= In this context means you are holding the barbell off the ground.

“Diane”= A named CrossFit workout.  We didn’t name the workout.  We don’t know who Diane is.  Stop asking.

Deadlift= LOOK…it’s highlighted. Go ahead…click on it.  How cool is that?

Reps= Repetitions

lbs.= pounds.  A unit of measure.

Handstand Push-ups also affectionately known as HSPU= Highlighted….click on it.

Optional=I’m going to tell you you don’t have to do it if you don’t want to, but you better do it.  It’s there for a reason.  If you need to pick up one of your children or go to work then you don’t need to stay, but the rest of you better take part in the “Optional” workout.  And you better like it.

Farmer’s Walk=  No, you do not need to be a farmer to participate.  Click on it.  You guessed it–it’s highlighted.

Whiteboard= A function on this website that allows, even encourages, you to enter the results of your workout each day.  You can track your workouts.  It’s like having an electronic notebook.  In fact, one joker on this website often uses the Whiteboard to journal his observations on life in general.  Stuff that has nothing to do with working out or training, but it’s entertaining.  Sometimes.

Now go get ready to train!

Workout of the Day
7 minute EMOM:
Snatch (Power or Squat) + Hang Snatch (Power or Squat)

“Diane”
21-15-9 reps, for time:
Deadlift (225 lbs / 155 lbs)
Handstand push-ups
Note: Scale weight if necessary.  Scale handstand push-ups to box handstand push-ups or regular push-ups.

Optional:
Farmer’s Walk
3 rounds of 1 minute walks

Note: Use kettlebells, dumbbells or Farmer Walk handles.

Post your scores to the Whiteboard.

Your all obviously sleep reading- go make some coffee and come back w better comments.

Janie! Perhaps you will comment accordingly.

I can’t stop laughing! Come on!!

What do you mean by scale? Do I have to bring my own? Or do you provide the scales for us? If we are doing the workout scaled does this mean I have to stand on one while doing the workout?

Not true Kelly. At least 3 people read my piece..and I’m one of them.

Janie was super-busy all day at work. I’m sure she’ll get around to it though.

No one is bringing the side effects of sleep reading?!?!? Explosive diarrhea??? Lmao. Watching television all last week as I rested after my surgery I found that those drug commercials can be very entertaining especially pertaining to side effects. It is a side effect of a lot of things lately. We all must be careful lol lol. I love the “glossary” time of year. When will we get the lesson on gym etiquette???

Thanks Barbara. The ending of the RED paragraph was a test to see if anyone made it that far. Apparently not too many people did…or they really thought that “sleep-reading” causes explosive diarrhea.

Gym etiquette? Hmmmmm. I’ll get back to you on this one.
