RETHINKING MOVEMENT: WHY YOU SHOULD SEE A PHYSICAL THERAPIST EVERY YEAR

Note: This article was of particular interest to me for several reasons: (1) I agree with the premise–with one caveat, that the physical therapist one seeks out is qualified to work with athletes and not just a person looking for the bare minimum of human function (read: not all physical therapists are equal, we are fortunate to have access to Jon Belmonte and Max Effort Physical Therapy),  (2) the longer we’re in the business of optimizing human performance the more we see that it’s rare, even with athletic people, that everyone is both excellent at moving in all areas of the body and free of the effects of injury or poor motor recruitment patterns and finally, (3), I’ve been speaking to Jon Belmonte  about doing a screening for all members upon initially joining, so this article was good timing.
