Richie–We are working these things on a daily basis. What the young fella in the video needs to do is work on his depth perception, his ability to make an intelligent decision and I might even wear a belt to hold my pants in their proper place.

This video reminded me of a college student from our local area who thought he could muscle-up on the Long Island Rail Road platform a few years back. His girlfriend, obviously the brains of the operation, walked to the platform they needed to be on. The Thought-I-Could-Do-A-Muscle-Up college athlete, couldn’t. Do a muscle-up, that is. Yeah, you guessed it. The train was on time. The kid…not so much.

    there are several morals here:
    1) Not having a muscle-up equals certain death.
    2) Trains hurt when they hit you.
    3) Platforms hurt when they hit you.
    4) You should not be making life and death decisions before your 25th birthday..that includes getting married.
    5) If your girlfriend tells you not to try to muscle-up from the train tracks to the platform listen to her, she’s probably smarter than you.
    6) If your girlfriend encourages you to muscle-up from the tracks to the platform she’s probably in love with your best friend.
    7) Boldness combined with stupidity rarely wins the day.

I’m out of time..I will revisit this later.

I’m back. Thanks Bevin! So….where was I? Oh..first a shout out to Al. Feel better soon Al! Ok..back to my commentary:

Richie–I hope you don’t think I’m discouraging you from jumping subway platforms. I’m not. I probably wouldn’t encourage most people, but I would definitely make an exception in your case. In fact, I would pay good money to watch you jump a subway platform. I figure it would be entertaining whether you were successful or you hit the platform like the guy in the video. On second thought, it would hilarious if you didn’t make it. Yeah. You should do it. Definitely. Do. It. Please notify me when you’ll be giving this a shot so I can be there to support you (read: video record you) to make sure you’re properly recognized….on the Spartan Performance You Tube channel.

    Good times Richie…good times.
