George- I love the “Mountain Dog Diet” article and totally agree with him. I’m just wondering where he got the name. Did he simply feel that paleo wasn’t a cool enough name? Can you just re-name diets like that? I think there ought to be a rule. Anyway he was very knowledgable in his defense of the paleo I mean mountain dog diet. Sorry I’m cranky today after the Giants loss last night.

    AL,

No worries. All you had to do was watch the Rangers thrash the Canadians, 5-0, and all would have been alright in the world….unless you’re an Islander fan.

John Meadows named his style of eating some time ago and unlike most Paleo-style eaters, he is an accomplished body builder. I was picking up what you throwing down though. There are numerous similarities, but no mention of the “P” word though.

The main reason I posted the article was the information about fat and cholesterol, 2 topics that are still riddled with misinformation even though we live in the Information Age. I was forced to educate an overweight, though well-meaning, doctor recently, regarding cholesterol.

Well it was a really good article that was very informative. I just thought that the name was unusual :). To be fair it was really more than just a typical paleo article. He really seems to favore nutritional ketosis.

It’s sad how little doctors know about what is probably the most important factor to most people’s health (nutrition). It’s probably not good that a social studies teacher who thankfully goes to Crossfit (and listens too and reads his coaches articles) knows more in some respects about nutrition than some doctors.
