The NY Rhinos will be facing the LA Reign, of the brand new National Pro Grid League, at Madison Square Garden tonight!  The National Pro Grid League is a  professional, competitive fitness league.  The events will be similar to CrossFit Workouts and the “players” are some of the top CrossFitters in the world.  Prior to tonight’s event there will be a Meet-and-Greet with the teams.  The NY Rhinos roster includes the second place men’s winner of the 2014 CrossFit Games, Matt Fraser and the second place women’s winner of the 2014 CrossFit Games (and former 2-time Champion), Annie Thorisdottir.  For further information and to purchase tickets click HERE.

10 THINGS BEGINNING LIFTERS SHOULD KNOW              “There will be times when your strength gains stagnate. You’ll have to analyze your form, analyze your training program, and consider everything else outside of the gym (diet, sleep, stress, etc.). But if you’re dialed in on gaining strength, you will prevail. Every year, your body will be stronger than it was the year before, and your physique will continue to improve. Strength creates curves and shapes the body. The same cannot be said for cardio and stretching. Prioritize progressive overload and your body will thank you for it.”—Bret Contreras, The Glute Guy

BREATH CONTROL FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE                    “The nerve that regulates the autonomic (fight or flight) response also regulates breathing. So, while the parasympathetic and sympathetic states from the autonomic nervous system are on autopilot, breathing can in fact encourage or affect what state the meter tips toward.”—Bryan Mann, Elite FTS
