CROSSFIT SUFFOLK: Powered by SPARTAN PERFORMANCE
John M. That pull-up bar looks so high when you’re wearing a weighted vest!
Apologies!
I forgot to include Barbara as one of the women who completed “Murph” Rx’d, no vest, on Memorial Day.
FROM PAT L.:
“I know September 27 is far off, but I created a team for the NYC Civilian Military Combine race, team name “Suffolk Crossfit- Spartan Preformance”.
“I work with a very diverse clientele: average Joes, athletes, bodybuilders, and CrossFitters, and I must say that next to the powerlifters I worked with, the CrossFitters were the strongest overall. Oddly enough, for a group that has a reputation for using bad form, they have probably the best form among the people I’ve trained. Serious CrossFitters are perfectionists and really work at their craft. Sure, they might have a slight technical breakdown during WODs, but most of the time their technique is very solid”—Christian Thibaudeau, TNation.com
4 BODYWEIGHT DEADLIFT ALTERNATIVES
Check out this short video featuring bodyweight-exercise authority, Al Kavadlo. Like Kavadlo, we believe there is no bodyweight alternative to the deadlift, but watch the video to see what good technique and body control looks like! In particular watch the pistol. Notice how Kavadlo descends slowly and smoothly in complete control. He doesn’t allow gravity to control the descent and he doesn’t allow his body to “collapse” into the bottom of the pistol.—George
