THE MURPH CHALLENGE

“Welcome to The Murph Challenge! Forged® is proud to introduce its NEW annual fundraiser, benefiting the LT Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation. Formerly known as ‘Memorial Day Murph’, The Murph Challenge is an extended version of the Memorial Day tradition that so many supporters have been taking part in for the last several years.”

As you are no doubt aware by now we will be carrying a long standing tradition at CrossFit Suffolk–The Memorial Day “Murph” in honor of Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy.  You can just come out and honor his memory by doing the workout or you can officially sign up for the Murph Challenge, be in the running for a special Murph Challenge in San Diego and get a Forged T-Shirt designed just for this occasion!  Proceeds for the official Murph Challenge go to the Michael P. If you have not scheduled your time spot for Memorial Day please do so forthwith!  The 8am session on Memorial Day is no longer available.  The 10am session is filled.  Some of you would like to do “Murph” but will not be able to attend the Memorial Day event.  We are having a limited number perform the workout on Friday or Saturday.  Please let us know if this includes you so we can plan accordingly.

Speaking of “Murph” and challenges….the Ronkonkoma Rotary Club is sponsoring the RUN AROUND THE LAKE on June 28th 2014 in honor of Michael Murphy.  Proceeds benefit the LT. Michael Murphy Foundation – Lone Survivor Foundation – Rotary Foundation and Rotary Charities.  The Run Around The lake is a 4 mile run.  We have participated for the last 2 years and it’s a great run for a great cause.  Several CrossFit Suffolk athletes have registered already.  We’re putting a team together and you can be on it!  Click HERE to register.  Click HERE for more info.
