CORONAVIRUS: STAY FIT TO FIGHT THE VIRUS, SAY MEDICS

THOUGHTS ON SATURDAY’S WOD:

47:08 to do a workout that involves zero equipment! (74-44-11 reps for time of burpees, push-ups, sit-ups, and squats) The tough part of the workout was going from burpees to push-ups. I hated this part and loved that part. Here’s what I mean. A year ago I couldn’t do a single scaled box push-up, never mind a regular push-up due to a torn bicep and a torn rotator cuff. About 6 weeks ago I started doing real push-up workouts. I’m still not where I used to be but it’s getting better. And I did all 129 push-up reps with strict form. The only thing touching the ground was my toes, my hands, and my chest. What I hated about it was I could only do 4 push-ups at a time with between 10 and 20 seconds rest in between. It took so long. The push-ups were enough of challenge and time consumer that the sit-ups and squats felt like a rest. I was glad I did it when I finished. I contemplated scaling to box push-ups in the second round but didn’t. I stayed the course. It’s always good to finish a difficult and lengthy workout. If you did this one let me know your thoughts.

I’m going to repeat some of the stuff from Friday or Saturday for those of you who tune-out toward the end of the week. My apologies for those of you who read this already, bear with me please!

What do you need as far as coaching is concerned? Some give me regular feedback, many do not. If we can be of assistance or the bodyweight workouts are not doing it for you please reach out to me. You don’t have to do so in the comment section. You can text me at any hour. If you are concerned with bothering me that’s impossible (okay, very highly unlikely). If I absolutely do not want to be disturbed you won’t be able to get a hold of me. Leave the text I’ll get back to you.

We send workouts just about every day. Do not feel pressured to work out every day. You could work out every day if you are taking care of sleep and nutrition, but don’t feel obligated to work out every day. Most of all, don’t feel guilty when you don’t work out as long as you don’t let that turn into weeks of not working out.

If you just need to talk, same procedure, let me know. We’re here.

Back Bend Not the best video but it does the trick
Don’t make the stupid face the guy in the video is making. I will know if you do…

THANK YOU ! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! and one more THANK YOU! George.

Thank you for continuing to provide workouts. Thank you for caring not only about our physical health but or mental and emotional health. Thank you for proving videos to help us with some movements that maybe new to us. Thank you for continuing to find interesting articles for us to read. Thank you for being there for us and your kind offers to help in any way. I know that if I am in trouble or in need that I can call you (and you know if you need anything I am there for you too).

So once again I say THANK YOU GEORGE! THANK YOU SPARTAN!

        Steve,

I gave you full credit for the workout right in the instructions on Beyond The WhiteBoard…..so everybody who read that and who did the workout HATES YOU now!

        You’re welcome!

I liked it….now that I got it over with.:)

I agree with Janie 100%!! Thank you George for everything, always! The only thing I need from you is for you to come to my house and yell at me while I workout to keep going… it’s too boring all by myself.

I also agree with Ben.. I didn’t do that workout but I did bake instead! Not brownies though, cookies! However I did not eat them in bed because crumbs.

      You’re welcome Gina!

Nothing would make me happier than to come over and yell at you. Perhaps I can make a video for you to play as you train. I can record my greatest hits: “What the fuck are you doing?”, “I’m old and feeble and I move faster than you”, “I do that perfectly, please be like me” and much, much more!!

      Ah. A boy can dream.
