HOW TO GET AWAY WITHOUT LEAVING YOUR HOUSE

YOUR WARM-UP DOESN’T MATTER AS MUCH AS YOU THINK Before you get happy about not warming up the article pertains to endurance events. The article does address “sprints” and “power” events and says warm-ups proved to be beneficial. Interesting read!

CrossFit Headquarters has initiated a fundraiser competition to help all the CrossFit gyms that have had to close due to COVID-19. Click Support Your Local Box Fundraiser to learn more.

The Support Your Local Box Fundraiser is a CrossFit event for the benefit of CrossFit affiliates affected by COVID-19 around the globe. The temporary closures and distance between us cannot keep this community apart. Affiliates around the world have demonstrated this through their actions over the past few weeks. Now, the entire CrossFit community has an opportunity to come together in support of our affiliates.

Event Format

Over a three-week period, CrossFit will release three classic and accessible workouts that can be performed by participants of any ability level. Everyone who participates will have their name displayed on the community leaderboard and will be able to create smaller leaderboards among friends, family, and other members of their affiliate using leaderboard hashtags.

Registration will take place on games.crossfit.com/open beginning on or before Wednesday, April 1, and will remain open for the duration of the competition. The first workout will be released on Friday, April 3. REGISTRATION NOW OPEN – REGISTER NOW

You can keep your hands under your coccyx (“tailbone”).

    Good morning Spartans.

Is it just me or is the registration not working? I clicked on the various links and I am just getting a page with a picture of Tia or Katrin. I minimized the screen thinking maybe there was something at the bottom that I just wasn’t seeing. I clicked and clicked and nothing. My graphics card has decided to take a vacation so maybe it just isn’t visible on my screen. I guess I will try on my ipad.

Running up and down my lawn will be a bit weird today. I miss the ambiance of the CrossFit parking lot. No dumpster full of cardboard. No beautiful sunset. Not cars screaming by on Vets Hwy. Running on the grass will add a bit of a challenge though.

        \(^-^)/
Thanks for always having my back. But now I think that should read “my back fat. “ More rolls than a bakery.

Thanks Ben. It is my graphics card that caused the problem. It totally worked on my iPad. I signed up along with 2 friends that are not part of Crossfit Suffolk.

I find myself with weird cravings as I sit every day about 5’ from the refrigerator. I have for the most part resisted. Every time I go food shopping there is a magnet that pulls me to the potato chip aisle. Yoo-hoo Janie here I am – yum. I have resisted.

A whole box of cookies. Way to crush it.

I signed up! Exciting! Glad to be doing even a little something to help. Shout out to all of our Crossfit nurses ??❤️. I have home been schooling naomi and I am working not every week, but I am working I feel like this helps me remember what day it is..sorta. I worked last week and I will be working again week of 4/13. Went for a 3.5 mile walk /jog/run this morning at around 8 am it was chilly and a bit windy but felt good and helped clear my mind and have some alone time. I was chatting with some of my family members yesterday and some of them seem so tired and Kind of depressed. On my run I was thinking of them and the difference in their attitudes and mine and I really think, actually I know that the exercising every day helps. In other my mother in law turned on HSN and now I can’t turn it off I want to buy everything..they make it look like it really is going to be as amazing when you buy it and get it home as it is on tv!! I’m resisting…I need to change the channel

          Amie,

Thank you for signing up! That’s awesome!!

I second the “shout-out” to the CrossFit Nurses! They are truly on the front line of the battle.

Interesting observation about how feel as compared to your family members. I have observed the same thing, even in myself. I don’t workout everyday but I definitely feel a lot better on the days I do a workout.

Now’s a good time to catch up on TV shows but even that is depressing depending on what your watching and how long you watch for. Anything that has to do with shopping is destructive. Even most commercials. The shopping shows and commercials are designed to make you feel like you need this stuff and if you don’t have you’re not satisfied. Buying stuff you really don’t need feels good for a few minutes then reality sets in. And the cycle repeats itself. Not good, especially when stuck in the house for the most part.

You’re doing the right thing Amie, keeping active!

      Ben,

      I signed up as well!

Aren’t you concerned with cookie crumbs in the bed? If there is one single, nearly-not-visible-to-the-naked-eye, crumb in my bed I would not be able to sleep. #firstworldproblems
