WORKOUT OF THE DAY

In memory of United States Marine and FDNY Firefighter, Christopher Slutman who was killed in Afghanistan on April 8th, 2019 by a roadside bomb explosion. Slutman is survived by his wife and 3 children.
The length of the workout, 15 minutes, signifies Slutman’s years of service in the FDNY. The 27 reps of the exercises represent’s Ladder Company 27, where he worked. Strict pull-ups were chosen because they are part of the firefighter’s PT test. Step-ups were chosen to represent the stairs Slutman climbed during his career and burpees are a hat tip to the prone position Marines often have to assume during a firefight and during basic training. The 200-meter run represents the fact that Slutman was an avid runner.
Complete as many rounds as possible in 15 mins of:
27 Weighted Box Step-ups, 50/35 lbs
Run, 200 m
27 Strict Pull-ups
Run, 200 m
27 Burpees
Run, 200 m
