    George, reading the article about “fasting cardio” made me wonder weather drinking coffee with sugar and half and half before working out is considered “fasted” or not?

    Katy, technically no it isn’t. But why focus on technicalities hahaha. I’d say drink your coffee black instead, if possible

    Melissa’s advice was spot on.

    That said, I don’t suggest that athletes who perform as well as you do change eating or nutritional habits while they are performing well. If you are performing well, feeling well most days, sleeping well, healthy and your body weight management is not an issue then I don’t see where it is necessary to change anything. If you want to experiment then feel free to experiment.

    Instead of questioning if having only a coffee before training is considered “fasted” why not try training without consuming anything and see how that works?

    I would be curious to see how your performance is affected without the coffee and then without sugar in your coffee.
