We've been getting some questions about the Barbells For Boobs event on October 30th, 1pm at CrossFit Suffolk/Spartan Performance. Allow us to clear up some items:
1) It's a fund raiser to raise money for women to get mammograms to fight breast cancer. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! IT'S NOT to raise money for implants as one person asked (true, not a joke) and it's not bring in your old barbells and get a peek at a woman's…ugh…unclothed torso (this one, fortunately, was said in jest!)
2) The workout we'll be doing is "Grace"…that's 30 repetitions of Clean and Jerks with 135 lbs. If you can't do a Clean and Jerk we'll train you. No, you don't have to use 135 lbs….we'll scale the weight to what you're capable of handling safely.
3) No need to be a member of CrossFit Suffolk/Spartan Performance. Members are encouraged to bring friends or family members.
