CROSSFIT SUFFOLK   ***  Forging Elite Fitness

21-18-15-12-9-6-3 rep rounds of:
135 pound Sumo deadlift high-pull
Pull to inverted hang and lower as slowly as possible

On SDHP's, pull the bar to make contact under the chin. On pulls to inverted hang, keep arms, trunk, hips, and legs as straight as possible, both up and down. This is not for time.

A very rare moment…this had to be one of the more challenging workouts because Ronnie just doesn't place his hands on his knees to take a breather!  Actually he doesn't take "breathers"!

How To Kill Your 10K PR  In our experience most CrossFitters do not like to run.  Even more reason why you may want to improve your ability.

Six New Tabata Workouts For Fast Fat Loss  from TMuscle.com….scantilly clad women warning in effect if you're reading this at work.  (TMuscle is an equal opportunity offender, if you find that sort of stuff offensive, there are scantilly clad men as well.)

Millions Of People "Waste Their Time By Jogging"   "Around 20 per cent of the population do not get any significant aerobic fitness benefit from regular exercise, according to an international study led by scientists at the University of London."

We're not shocked by this study.  Hell, I can look around my neighborhood on most days and see the same people jogging and the same people getting heavier month after month.

We're not shocked by the 20% figure.  Not all forms of exercise are good for everybody.  Not all forms of anything are good for everyone.

We're not shocked that these 20% are better off "improving their diet or taking medication" in order to improve their health.  Especially the improving the diet advice.  We've met plenty of people who will dedicate themselves to some form of exercise and believe they could "eat whatever they want"…and do!  To each his own, but it's annoying when they wonder, out loud, why they don't lose weight or why their body composition doesn't change.  "Yeah, but I had a diet soda with my super-sized burger and french fries."

Nothing controversial here.

Here's the part that made me go HAH????  Go directly to paragraph 5.  The lead person of the study, Dr. James Timmons, is the head of The Royal Veterinary College at University of London.  Royal Veterinary College!!  Couldn't they find a people doctor.  Times really are tough.  And they want to socialize medicine in this country?   I'm sure Dr. Timmons is a qualified professional, probably a nice guy…fun at parties and such, but he's a veterinarian.  Surely there was somebody available who spends most of their time with two-legged humanoids?

I don't know.  Maybe it's me?  Just sayin'………
